Every gift helps our garden grow and supports our wider conservation impact

Foundational Support

Donations to our General Fund allow us to maintain our day-to-day operations and keep the gardens beautiful, while also advancing our mission of conserving and celebrating the unique plant biodiversity of Western Mexico.

You can make a one-time gift, or sign-up for recurring monthly donations. Your gifts will support our plant collections and horticulture, wonderful local staff, facilities and grounds upkeep, education, scientific research, and conservation.

Program-specific Restricted Gifts

The Vallarta Botanical Gardens achieves our mission by advancing projects within our four impact program areas. If you would like your gift tied to one of these bodies of work, see the links below to learn more and give today.

We would love to talk to you! If you are interested in something more specific or otherwise have any questions about restricted gifts, please contact our Head of Fundraising, Christopher Jacobs, by email at christopherj@vbgardens.org or by phone at +52 322 223 6182.

Living Plant Collections

Your 2026 donations will support: our overall horticultural work, certification of our collections of key species, mapping and databases of our plants, upgrades and maintenance of our propagation lab and expansion of our greenhouses, and scientific investigation into how to conserve endemic and threatened species, including how they can adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Visitor Education and Inspiration

Your 2026 donations will support: allowing us to welcome Mexican schoolchildren for field trips to the Gardens free of charge, upgrading our visitor events capacity including better AV equipment and hosting more events through the year, investing in improved signage throughout the Gardens, and improving our accessibility for visitors with disabilities.

Habitat and Ecosystem Conservation

  1. Your 2026 donations will support: fencing and drone surveillance of existing protected lands to prevent illegal deforestation and poaching, bringing scientists and naturalists from around the world to the area to document our local biodiversity, installing additional wildlife camera traps to monitor population health of birds and animals, and

  2.  Conservation in Action is our marque program allows you to have a direct impact on saving the forests of our area and all the unique flora and fauna therein. Your gifts allow us to purchase undeveloped plots of nearby land in the Sierra Madre mountains and Horcones river basin and secure them with protected conservation status so that they remain thriving wilderness for generations to come.

Sustainable Local Development

Your 2026 donations will support: our investments in local public-school infrastructure and scholarship and school supplies for children, outreach and educational workshops in local communities on environmental issues and why and how to conserve our natural resources, partnership and support for local disaster response and firefighting authorities, particularly to reduce the risk of wildfires, and demonstration programs on eco-friendly economic activities, from eco-tourism to shade-grown crops.
